NICOLAS CAGE is to marry a penniless waitress he picked up in a sushi bar just TWO months ago.
The Oscar-winning movie hunk proposed to pretty Alice Kim with an enormous emerald and diamond ring — and the stunned 19-year-old accepted.
The unlikely romance mirrors the plot of Cage’s 1994 movie It Could Happen To You, in which he played a lottery winner who falls for a hard-up waitress.
Nic fell for brunette Alice when he went for a meal at the LA restaurant where she works, Sushi Avenue.
He was out with pals on Valentine’s Day — without a date — and became so smitten with Alice during the meal that he invited her to the Oscars with him the following month.
Cage, who is more than twice Alice’s age, had Hollywood tongues wagging when he was spotted at several after-show parties with the teenager on his knee.
Since then the besotted star has whisked Alice off in his private jet for a series of romantic meals in Chicago and New Orleans, where he has been filming.
A pal said: “Nic has really fallen for this girl.
“She lives with her family because she can’t afford her own place.
“Alice loves the ring Nic gave her and she was totally amazed by his actions. She keeps pinching herself to check she’s not dreaming.
“It’s not every day a hard-up waitress is swept off her feet by a Hollywood movie star.”
My snapper caught up with Cage and his bride-to-be on Saturday, when he treated Alice and her family to a day in Disneyland, California.
The actor, who owns a mansion in Bel Air, flew back from Chicago to spend the weekend with her.
They were photographed holding hands as they enjoyed the rides.
Cage’s 12-year-old son Weston, from a previous relationship, was also there.
Twice-married Cage, who won an Oscar for Leaving Las Vegas, has had a strange and disastrous love life.
He proposed to actress PATRICIA ARQUETTE on the day he met her in the early Eighties.
She tried to fend him off by jokily giving him a list of tasks he would have to complete to win her.
But when he started to complete them, she panicked and fled.
They met again years later and went on to marry in 1995.
After their divorce in 2001, Nic tied the knot with ELVIS PRESLEY’s daughter LISA MARIE — but it lasted just three months and 15 days.
Cage, who is famously obsessed with The King, admitted afterwards that he “shouldn’t have married in the first place”.
