간단한 영어 번역 관련 질문이라 또 민망하고요.
Metaphors shape our thinking in systematic and profound ways (Lakoff and Johnson 1980); research shows that we cannot think in a metaphor-free way (Kuhn 1970, Pepper 1942). There is no such thing as “literal” thinking—in science, social science, popular thought, art, or any other domain (Derrida 1974/1971). So we are bound to think of one domain in terms of another. And just as some metaphors can trap us, others can free us.
