Farow has consistently defended Polanski since 1977 and until very recently spoke of him fondly. On January 7 of this year, amid the #MeToo controversy, she sent you a tweet apologising. You replied that no apology was necessary. Can you elaborate on why you responded as you did?
SG: Many highly respected celebrities wrote letters to the probation department on Roman’s behalf. They were his friends. Perhaps they didn’t believe that he could do such a thing. Who does not support their friends? They may have been a little hard for me to read, but why would I internalize those letters as an attack on me? I didn’t need their belief or support because I knew what happened. Letters and opinions don’t change that, and nor do celebrity endorsements. The hypocrisy of Dylan’s question “What if it had been your child?” came much later [in 2014]. After all, I am someone’s daughter. Mia’s public apology was offered as a reply to a random twitter post, and arrived on the day of the Golden Globes. I didn’t need it and I don’t want it. I felt used by someone pursuing their own vendetta against Woody Allen. After 40 years Mia Farrow has now turned on her friend Roman, who I forgave decades ago. I’ll leave people to make of that what they will.

마치 돈없고 힘없는 패로우가 그 반대인 앨런에 대항한 거처럼 그려지는데 패로우 변호사도 거물 변호사였습니다.이러한 사실은 다 생략되고 앨런이 두렵다고 말하는 패로우 모습만 나왔죠.
It presents Allen as a Hollywood leviathan, with fleets of high-powered lawyers at his disposal and a publicist who’d use any means necessary to twist information in a way that spared her client’s reputation. It doesn’t mention the fact that Farrow hired Alan Dershowitz as her attorney during the custody fight over Dylan and two of her siblings, or that Dershowitz reportedly offered to make the child’s allegations against Allen go away for a multimillion-dollar settlement. (Dershowitz denied that money was attached to a proposal for a private settlement.) Presumably, the filmmakers didn’t want to include anything that might detract from Dylan’s own story. But this information exists, and is widely accessible. It’s yet more evidence of the fallout that ensues when family conflict goes nuclear, which inevitably does its most vulnerable members a disservice. Dylan’s motives are impossible to fault: She tells the filmmakers that she wants to share her experiences again so that others who have endured what she has feel less alone. She deserves to get to do that, and if more exposure brings catharsis, then so be it. But the paradox is that in portraying events so selectively, Allen v. Farrow leaves too much room for yet another public wrangling.

저는 슬프고 비정상적인 가족의 초상을 본 듯 했습니다. 딜런의 정체성이 어린 시절 사건을 중심으로 형성된 거 같고 형제들도 그 영향을 계속 받으며 자란 거 같더군요.케이트 블란쳇 말대로 슬픈 가족사였어요.대를 이어서도 계속될 편가르기와 대립.
우디 앨런이 순이와 입양한 두 딸 중 백인 딸이 딜런을 닮았고 순이같은 동양인 딸 사진 보면 그가 건든 패로우의 두 딸이 생각나요. 자서전에서 다이앤 키튼 자매와 사귄 것도 썼다던데 경계란 게 없는 사람인 듯.
2018년 침묵했던 순이가 인터뷰한 거는 미투 운동이 거세고 앨런 사후 지적재산권을 보호하기 위해서라도 그러겠죠. 마이클 잭슨 음악을 공영방송 bbc가 트는 거 거부하듯 우디 앨런 말살 운동이 벌어지면 금전적 타격이 크겠죠. 순이는 평생 일해 본 적 없죠.
