Ask A Korean twitter 입니다.
This is a good article, but the events that occurred since the article was published took it to the whole new level of crazy.
At the end of the day, Clinton "only" put emails on a private server. Pres. Park *actively* handed over classified docs to her confidant.
It was not as if her confidant was someone who was qualified like Huma Abedin. The confidant had no official position and few knew of her.
The confidant's only qualification was that she claimed to channel the spirit of Pres. Park's dead mother. I'm serious. This really happened
With Korean politics, I have seen some incredible shit. Never thought Korean politics could shock me like this. But this? THIS?
A skilled politician becomes the president and fucks up. Par for the course. Politicians fuck up all the time and many expected the fuckup.
But the fuckup happened because of SOME MOTHERFUCKING PSYCHIC WHO CLAIMED TO BE THE PRESIDENT'S DEAD MOTHER. No one expected this. No one.
Koreans' shock at this news is indescribable. Their collective minds are blown. Even the conservatives lost the will to defend the president
Another irony: conservatives hounded Korea's last liberal pres bc he had the gall to take some of his docs home after his term ended.
That's the better analogue to the Clinton scandal. A technical violation of the doc confidentiality that was more of a political BS.
This though. THIS. This shit is really deranged. The president *actively* gave away her docs, which were found in a trashed computer.
The confidant Choi woman just trashed the computer before she ran. Journalists just had to grab it. There was no encryption at all.
The woman could have just taken all of that top secret material and walked straight into the North Korean embassy for all she cares.
